Vol. 266 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Safety of Schoolchildren.

76.

asked the Minister for Local Government the steps he intends to take to ensure the safety of schoolchildren attending Bluebell national school, County Dublin, who have to cross the dual carriageway which is now nearing completion at the junction of the city and county boundaries.

The appropriate action to be taken in this matter is for Dublin County Council to determine in consultation with the Garda. I am informed that a school warden is already on duty on the Naas Road at the end of the existing dual carriageway and that on completion of the extension, it is intended to have a second warden so that school children may be guided across both carriageways.
