Vol. 266 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Derelict Sites.

83.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of sites taken over by Dublin Corporation under the Derelict Sites Act during the last 12 months; and if he will indicate their location.

Normally, information of this type in relation to a particular area would be available to the local authority and not to me. However, it happens in this case that I have been advised by the Dublin Corporation that no acquisitions under the Derelict Sites Act, 1961, were completed by them in the past 12 months.

Is this because the legislation might need to be amended or improved? The question of derelict sites is very serious in Dublin city.

There are proceedings at the moment and if the Deputy wants that information I will give it to him.

The Parliamentary Secretary might circulate it or send me a letter.

I will send the Deputy a letter.

Thank you.
