Vol. 266 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Pier.

104.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give full particulars of the proposed plan to erect a causeway between the car ferry terminal and the mailboat pier in Dún Laoghaire; and the assurances there are relating to the protection of the amenities.

Mr. Kenny

I gave details of the proposed works at Dún Laoghaire harbour to the Dáil on 7th June, 1973, in my statement introducing the Vote for Public Works and Buildings.

The protection of the amenities of the harbour has at all times been kept in mind in the preparation of the proposals. The Office of Public Works has had discussions and correspondence in connection with the proposals with all parties concerned including the yacht club affected by the proposals, An Bord Fáilte and Dún Laoghaire Corporation. There were no adverse reactions from any of these bodies.

Did the Parliamentary Secretary say that he has consulted with all the parties concerned?

Mr. Kenny

Yes.

What was the result?

Mr. Kenny

There were no adverse reactions from any of them.
