Vol. 267 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Schools.

37.

asked the Minister for Education if he will sanction proposals from North Tipperary Vocational Education Committee for the provision of additional prefabricated classrooms at Borrisokane, County Tipperary.

Mr. R. Burke

Two additional mobile prefabricated classrooms are being sanctioned for Borrisokane Vocational School.

Having regard to the Minister's reply to the supplementary by Deputy Blaney, may I take it that this will be the prelude to the establishment of permanent structures in this school? Mr. R. Burke

I have, I hope, four years in which to deal with the various aspects of educational policy and I would suggest that the Deputy should not press me on the question of Borisokane because I could elaborate to a great extent on what happened there.

38.

asked the Minister for Education when the building of a new vocational school in Tipperary is likely to commence.

Mr. R. Burke

An outline sketch scheme and estimate of cost for a new vocational school in Tipperary were recently sanctioned in my Department and are being examined. It is not possible at this stage to say when building is likely to commence.
