Vol. 267 No. 12

Written Answers. - Housing Loans and Grants.

237.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he proposes to increase the amount allowed for each dependant in calculating eligibility for local authority loans and supplementary new house grants.

There is an allowance for dependants in assessing income eligibility for new house supplementary grants, but not in determining income eligibility for local authority loans.

I increased the income limits for loans and supplementary grants on 25th May last. These limits are being kept under review and the question of increasing the allowances for dependants will be considered by me when the next revision is being made.
