Vol. 267 No. 12

Committee on Finance. - Finance Bill, 1973 : Money Resolution.

I move:

That for the purpose of any Act of the present session to charge and impose certain duties of customs and inland revenue (including excise), to amend the law relating to customs and inland revenue (including excise) and to make further provisions in connection with finance, it is expedient to authorise as follows:

(1) the repayment of certain income tax paid on or after the 6th day of April, 1972, consequent upon the granting of certain relief in relation to benefits under retirement benefits scheme;

(2) relief by way of repayment of stamp duty in respect of certain transactions relating to capital companies taking place on or after the first day of January, 1973, and before the 1st day of August, 1973, or the date of the passing of that Act, whichever is the later, consequent upon the repeal by that Act of the provisions specified in column (3) of the Eleventh Schedule to that Act of the Stamp Act, 1891, the Finance Act, 1899, and the Limited Partnerships Act, 1907;

(3) to redeem borrowings, and interest thereon, in respect of capital services, there shall be charged annually on the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof a sum of £4,647,544 in the twenty-nine successive financial years and a sum of £5,452,955 in the thirty successive financial years commencing in each case with the financial year ending on the 31st day of March, 1974.

Question put and agreed to.
Money Resolution reported and agreed to.

I would merely make the point that there is a substantial increase of from ten resolutions in the budget to 24 now.
