Vol. 268 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Holdings.

174.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate (a) the holdings in County Donegal acquired by the Forestry Division in respect of which development work has not commenced and (b) the holdings in that county in respect of which agreements to purchase have been reached.

(Cavan): Land acquired by the Forest and Wildlife Service becomes part of the plantable reserve to be planted in accordance with planned work programmes. The plantable reserve in County Donegal amounted to 3,049 hectares at 30th September, 1973.

It is not the practice to give details of proposed land purchases but I can tell the Deputy that at 5th November, 1973, a total of 2,187 hectares had been brought to the "price agreed" stage in County Donegal. These cases are now being processed by the Chief State Solicitor.

The remaining questions will appear on next Tuesday's Order Paper unless Deputies are prepared to accept written answers which they may obtain in the General Office.

The Dáil adjourned at 5 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, 13th November, 1973.
