asked the Minister for Health if his Department has made any decision regarding the building of an acute psychiatric unit at Roscommon County Hospital, where the appointment of a clinical director has been delayed pending this decision.

The provision of a psychiatric unit at Roscommon County Hospital has been approved in principle. The actual arrangements in relation to this accommodation cannot be decided until a decision is taken on the future role of this hospital in accordance with the studies now being made.
