Vol. 268 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Traffic Offences.

1.

asked the Minister for Justice if any change has been authorised in the method of checking vehicles to detect offences under the Road Traffic Act; and if he approves of the method of inspecting cars while their owners are attending church services on Sundays.

It is the duty of the Garda to enforce the law and for that purpose to carry out vehicle inspections from time to time. The detailed arrangements for doing this are matters within the discretion of the local Garda.
