Vol. 269 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. - County Donegal Pier.

43.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he has received an estimate for repairs to the pier and boatslip at Port, Inver, County Donegal; and if these urgently needed repairs will be undertaken soon.

The answer is no. The maintenance of the structures referred to is the responsibility of the Donegal County Council and if repairs are required they are matters for the attention of the county council. However, I might mention that proposals for the improvement of the landing facilities at this centre are being examined at present by my Department but I am not yet in a position to say what, if any, improvement works may be approved for execution.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the Office of Public Works have passed on the result of their survey of this landing place? Would he tell us what his reaction to that report was?

We got that report. We have asked for another report from BIM. We are awaiting a report from them. When that report is available the project will be examined again in conjunction with the report we have from the OPW.

You could do better than that. You could speed it up.
