Vol. 269 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. - Dursey Island Rural Electrification.

70.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power whether the ESB have any plans to extend the rural electrification scheme to Dursey Island.

I am informed by the ESB that terms for supply under the final phase of the rural electrification scheme were quoted to the householders on Dursey Island during the development of Cahermore rural area in 1972-73. All the householders accepted the terms quoted but it later transpired that some of those who accepted did not wish to pursue their application further. Revised terms will be quoted to the remaining householders early in 1974 and work will be undertaken as soon as possible afterwards.
