Vol. 270 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment for Handicapped.

86.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will insist that local authorities make provision for the employment of handicapped persons.

As the Minister for Labour has already announced, legislation to cater for the special problems and needs of disabled and handicapped persons with particular reference to the employment opportunities available for them is under consideration and it is intended that the Bill when introduced will apply to local authority employment.
