Vol. 271 No. 8

Committee on Finance. - Business of Dáil.

What will be the position assuming that questions finish before 5 p.m. because there are not an unusually large number on the Order Paper for today? Can we resume Health?

There are 120 Questions on the Order Paper for today. This day three weeks the House succeeded in getting through only 70 questions in 2½ hours. It depends very much on the rate of progress. The Opposition Chief Whip, and myself, discussed this this morning and we agreed that it was very unlikely that it was worthwhile ordering any business to succeed Question Time and that the questions listed on the Order Paper would probably last the full 2½ hours.

I wish to give notice that it is my intention to raise on the Adjournment the subject matter of Question No. 58 to the Minister for Local Government on 21st March, 1974.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.
