Vol. 271 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Ross Industry.

51.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the report submitted to the IDA by the New Ross Junior Chamber, County Wexford, there are any proposals for the setting up of an industry in the New Ross area which would provide employment for women; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they have no proposals for the setting up of an industry in New Ross which would provide employment for women.

The authority however are making every effort to attract such an industry to the town, and have purchased a 12-acre site there for industrial development.
