Vol. 273 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Roads.

32.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will approve the recommendations regarding the reclassification of roads in County Kildare which were forwarded to him some months ago by Kildare County Council.

County councils were invited by circular letter of 28th August, 1973, to furnish their observations on tentative proposals to reclassify certain roads as "regional" roads. My Department is at present examining the views and recommendations received in response to that circular, including those of the Kildare County Council, but it will be some time before I will be in a position to announce a final selection of "regional" roads. As the "regional" network will be interdependent as between counties and regions it would be impracticable for me to indicate at this stage the position in any particular county.
