It is estimated on the basis of the consumer price index numbers that £1 at mid-February, 1974, the latest date for which the index is available, would purchase the same quantum of goods and services at retail prices as 81.3 pences would have purchased at mid-May, 1972.
Has the Parliamentary Secretary got the information for the two previous years?
