Vol. 273 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Park Amenities.

63.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the up-to-date proposals, including one recently announced, to provide the best amenities in all national parks.

Mr. Kenny

I would refer the Deputy to my statement in this House on 7th May, 1974, introducing the Estimate for Vote 9—Public Works and Buildings.

64.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will provide information centres in each national park to inform visitors of the facilities available etc. and as a location for a telephone service.

Mr. Kenny

Visitor centres are at present under construction at Dunmore Cave, County Kilkenny and at the Rock of Cashel. Similar centres are proposed for the Killarney National Park and for Clonmacnoise and in due course, for other important parks or monuments in State care. The question of providing a telephone service in these centres will be borne in mind.
