Vol. 273 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Muckross Abbey Burial Grounds.

66.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is prepared to allocate additional land in the national park at Killarney, County Kerry to provide for an extension to Muckross Abbey burial grounds.

Mr. Kenny

I regret that I cannot see my way to agree to the Deputy's suggestion as, apart from the consideration that it is neither practicable nor aesthetically desirable to extend the Muckross Abbey graveyard, it would not be in accord with the statutory obligations of the Commissioners of Public Works to manage the national park for the enjoyment and recreation of the public.

Question No. 67 postponed.
