Vol. 273 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drink Prices Investigation.

37.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce why a firm of English consultants was employed to investigate drink prices in this country; and why an Irish firm was not employed.

I understand that English consultants were employed in this instance because of their known expertise in the drink industry and because their other experience and qualifications make them particularly suitable for this inquiry. I agree that it is generally desirable to engage Irish consultancy firms where they are available and have the necessary experience and qualifications.
