Vol. 273 No. 13

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Unified Intervention Agency.

22.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is satisfied that under proposed new arrangements a unified intervention agency will not have a detrimental effect on the price of beef, dairy produce and pig meat.

I presume that the Deputy is referring to recent Press reports about possible changes in my Department's administrative arrangements in connection with the payment of FEOGA moneys in respect of accession compensatory amounts, export refunds, intervention purchases, et cetera. Any such changes would not affect the prices of the commodities mentioned as fixed annually by the Council of Ministers.
