Vol. 274 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair and Maintenance Money.

1.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider increasing the allocation of money to Tralee Urban Council, County Kerry for the repair of urban council houses.

It is a matter for each local authority to provide money in their annual estimates for the repair and maintenance of their rented housing estate. I understand that Tralee Urban Council have provided a sum of £23,000 for this purpose in their current estimates. Such expenditure will qualify for State subsidy under the new housing subsidy arrangements which I introduced last year.
