There are three groups of superannuation schemes in operation in Bord na Móna the provisions of which have been approved or amended in accordance with the statutory requirements set out in section 6 of the Turf Development Act, 1953.

Bord na Móna have submitted for approval a further draft scheme to amend the general employees' superannuation scheme and three draft schemes to amend the regular works employees' schemes. The schemes which are being examined, have not yet been given formal statutory approval. However, pending formal approval, the schemes are being implemented by the board with the Minister's agreement.
