Vol. 275 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Veterinary Union.

10.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the action he intends to take to avert a deterioration in relations between his Department and the veterinary union.

I see no reason why there should be a deterioration in relations between my Department and the Irish Veterinary Union and, accordingly, no action on my part would appear to be called for.

Has the Parliamentary Secretary consulted with the veterinary union regarding the taking of blood samples by technicians for the brucellosis scheme which he intends introducing fairly shortly?

This is a separate question.

This centres around relations between the Minister's Department and the veterinary union and blood samples are not part of it.

Is there nothing in the Parliamentary Secretary's brief?

The vets are doing this.

The Deputy is going into a different area now.
