Vol. 275 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational Education Employees.

52.

asked the Minister for Education if any special leave arrangements have been made to allow employees of vocational educational committees who are members of county councils, corporations or town commissioners time to attend meetings of those public bodies and their subsidiary committees.

Mr. R. Burke

The question of allowing employees of vocational education committees who are members of public bodies special leave of absence to attend meetings of these bodies is a matter for the vocational education committee concerned.

In the case of teachers, approval for such leave of absence would be conditional upon satisfactory arrangements being made for the conduct of classes in the teachers' absence and subject also to the condition that not more than six such absences would be allowed during a school year.

Question No. 53 postponed.
