* Actual threshold increase as from 1st January, 1975.
The 2nd phase increase for Cork County Council road workers applied as from 1st July, 1974 because of a local agreement made in 1970.
The variation in the increases shown for Kildare County Council is due to the termination of a "house agreement" with the unions (on the recommendation of the Employer-Labour Conference). As a result roadworkers' wages in Kildare now attract National Agreement increases simultaneously with, and on the same basis as, those in County Councils generally. Under the local agreement the increase of £2.55 was payable from 1/7/74 while that of £0.75 was payable from 1/12/74.
