Vol. 277 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Walkinstown (Dublin) Employment Exchange.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if, in view of the large numbers now unemployed, he will consider setting up an employment exchange office in the Walkinstown area, Dublin to facilitate the people of the area.

The opening of an employment exchange in the Walkinstown area in present circumstances as distinct from any other area would not be justified.

I may add that I have been concerned generally for some time past with the question of improving employment exchange and other local office facilities throughout the country, including, of course, the Dublin area, but for reasons which I am sure the Deputy will appreciate this must necessarily be a somewhat long term project.
