Vol. 278 No. 6

Ceisteanna-Questions. Oral Answers. - Price Inspectors.

1.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the training and qualifications required of price inspectors operating from his Department; and if he is satisfied with their handling of customers.

Prices inspectors are selected from established civil servants in the general service grade of clerical officers, who are suitable for the performance of inspection duties. On appointment they are given appropriate instruction and training. I am quite satisfied that the prices inspectors of my Department perform their duties with due consideration for the rights of complainants and traders alike.
