Vol. 280 No. 2

Written Answers. - Medical Personnel Petrol Supplies.

129.

asked the Minister for Health if he is satisfied that alternative arrangements can be made so as to ensure that adequate supplies of petrol will be made available to medical and para-medical personnel in order to minimise risk to patients.

I understand that, because the situation as regards petrol supplies was causing concern, the medical organisations contacted the interests involved to see if special arrangements could be made for supplies to doctors in practice.

I understand that firm arrangements have been made to supply petrol to doctors in Dublin, and that the medical organisations are pressing for similar arrangements to be made in other centres.

I shall keep in close touch with the situation but I would prefer to make no other comment just now.
