Vol. 285 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Planning Policy.

15.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider the previous decisions regarding regional councils to ensure that town and country will not be treated as separate concepts in the formulation of the planning policy for the entire country.

I am not clear to what previous decisions the Deputy is referring. There is adequate provision in planning law for consultation and co-ordination between planning authorities and I am satisfied that urban and rural authorities fully appreciate the inter-relationship between towns and their hinterlands.
