The inter-departmental committee set up to study the manpower and training implications of offshore oil and gas finds held their first meeting in July last and have been meeting regularly since. The report of the committee will take some time to complete. I have told the committee that I would be pleased to accept interim reports on issues requiring early action. I understand that the committee are at present working on an interim report.
