The Minister for Health announced in October, 1974, that the Government had decided that, in future, he should have the main responsibility, including that of co-ordination, in relation to child care.
A Task Force on Child Care Services was set up by the Minister and their interim report, furnished in November, 1975, is being studied by the Department of Health and the other Departments concerned.
