Vol. 287 No. 9

Written Answers. - Royal Irish Academy of Music.

92.

asked the Minister for Education if it is proposed to introduce measures to aid the Royal Irish Academy of Music to ensure that parents of pupils there will not have to bear steep increases in fees.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to similar questions on 19th November, 1975. It is not possible in current financial circumstances to increase the 1976 grant-in-aid to the Royal Irish Academy of Music beyond the sum provided in the Estimates, namely, £82,400 which is £15,400 more than the amount provided for 1975.
