Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

22.

asked the Minister for Local Government the cause of delay in sanctioning the proposed water scheme for Tydavnet, County Monaghan.

This proposal is being revised following discussions at technical level between the Department's advisers and the local authority's consultants.

23.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department has approved of the documents regarding the treatment of the Castleisland sewerage scheme, County Kerry.

I approved the preliminary proposals submitted for this scheme on 20th August, 1974.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department has approved of the contract documents submitted by Kerry County Council for the north-east Kerry stage one water scheme.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department has approved of the tenders submitted for phase two of the north-east Kerry water scheme.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 24 and 25 together.

Stage one of the north-east Kerry water supply scheme has been completed since 1974. Stage two, section one, is in construction and is, I understand, expected to be completed in the autumn of this year.

Tenders for site investigations in connection with a proposed dam which will constitute a further section of this scheme are at present under consideration in my Department.
