Vol. 288 No. 10

Written Answers. - Ballingeary (Cork) Garda Station.

83.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will take steps to have a Garda sergeant or an extra Garda stationed at Ballingeary, County Cork, and to restore the station to its former strength.

The Commissioner has informed me that having regard to the many other demands on Garda resources there is no proposal at present to increase the existing Garda strength at Ballingeary.

The situation there will, however, be reviewed in the context of the general examination of police deployment being carried out by management consultants who are engaged on an assignment in relation to the Garda Síochána.
