I indicated in a written reply to a similar question by the Deputy on 28th October last, —Official Report Volume 285, No. 3, column 349—that discussions were taking place with the health board on the number and kind of additional beds to be provided in the extended Castlebar Hospital. These discussions have concluded and formal agreement has been reached. A project team representing the health board and my Department has been set up which will undertake the preparation of a planning brief for the extended hospital.
Are the plans for the extension going ahead?
Yes.
