Vol. 288 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Staffing of Naas Health Offices.

9.

asked the Minister for Health if he will ensure that sufficient staff is available at the Eastern Health Board's offices at Basin Street, Naas, County Kildare, to expedite the processing of medical card applications; and why the staff was reduced before the back-log was cleared.

Staffing levels at the Eastern Health Board's offices are primarily a matter for the board's chief executive officer. I understand that the board are making arrangements for the early redeployment of an additional post to its offices at Basin Street, Naas, to expedite the processing of medical card applications. The number of staff at the offices concerned has not been reduced.
