Vol. 289 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Transport Service.

21.

asked the Minister for Education if school transport to Cahy and Doonally national schools, County Sligo will be changed as requested by the deputation who called on him some months ago.

After the deputation in question further investigations were made and the following amended arrangements have now been approved: (1) the bus route has been extended so as to provide improved facilities for children living in the Hazelwood area; (2) the children who live nearer to Forthill national school will be allowed to travel on the bus on payment of a fare equivalent to that which would be payable on a scheduled bus service, the fare for each school term to be payable in advance.

22.

asked the Minister for Education if he will have transport extended in the Rossinver area of County Leitrim to serve the needs of 12 children who formerly attended a school which is now closed.

I have arranged to have this matter further investigated.
