Vol. 289 No. 1

Written Answers. - Market Charges Revision.

78.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the delay in approving a revision of charges in (a) the Iveagh market, Dublin, which was fixed by Dublin Corporation and sent to his Department for approval on 5th December, 1975, and (b) the wholesale food market, Dublin, which was sent to his Department for approval on 14th January, 1976; and if he will now issue the necessary approval to avoid further losses on the operations of the markets.

The corporation's proposal to increase rents and charges in the Iveagh Market was approved on 18th March. In the case of increases proposed in the Wholesale Food Market, Dublin, I am in consultation with other Departments having an interest in the proposals.
