Vol. 289 No. 1

Written Answers. - PO Trainee Technicians.

80.

asked the Minister for the Public Service the number of applicants who sat for the last trainee technician examination set on behalf of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs; and the number of trainees that will be called from it for training.

The practice of the Civil Service Commissioners is not to indicate how many candidates have entered for a competition until the result is available. The written part of the current trainee technician competition was held on 4th and 5th February, 1976, and the papers are still being corrected. The most highly placed of the candidates will be called for interview. At least 260 appointments will be made from those who qualify at the interview.
