Vol. 289 No. 9

Written Answers. - Limerick Garda Station.

42.

asked the Minister for Justice if he now proposes to provide a Garda station in Southill, Limerick city.

No. The Commissioner has informed me that he favours the continued coverage of the area from Edward Street station, one mile away, rather than the erection of a new station, which would reduce the number of men available for outdoor duty. Garda strength at Edward Street station has been increased in the past few months and the situation will be kept under review.
