Vol. 291 No. 4

Private Members' Business.

As no motion has been nominated under Standing Order No. 85, and I gather there is no agreement to take a particular motion, I propose to call each item listed under Private Members' Business, commencing at item No. 27, except, of course, those motions which are presently deemed out of order.

Item No. 27 not moved.

Does that mean that the Opposition are not taking a responsible interest——

Take it easy. If the Parliamentary Secretary wants us to raise it we will.

You were asleep when you should have been awake.

Order.

Item No. 28 not moved.

Item No. 29 may not be moved at this stage.

Items Nos. 30 and 31 not moved.

Item No. 32 not moved.

I should think not.

Item No. 33 not moved.

Item No. 34 not moved.

It is a terrible waste to see motions——

If you had the guts to face up to the motion we would probably be debating it now.

You were asleep when you should have been awake and——

Order. Interruptions must cease. Deputies must allow the Chair to carry out the business before it. Item No. 35.

Not moved for the moment.

Items Nos. 37 and 38 not moved.

Item No. 39 may not be moved at this stage.

Item No. 40 not moved.

Item No. 41 may not be moved at this stage.

Item No. 42 not moved.

Item No. 43 may not now be moved. Item No. 44.

Not moved for the moment.

On a point of order, I heard the Leader of the Opposition say "not moved for the moment". May I be clear about this and may I have information on it? Am I right in thinking that when a motion is not moved it lapses from the Order Paper?

The practice is that motions not moved go to the end of the list unless Members indicate they do not wish to have them restored to the Order Paper.

Item No. 45 not moved.
