Vol. 291 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Amnesty.

96.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of moneys received by the Revenue Commissioners in respect of the recent tax amnesty; and the number of persons who have made payments.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the position as at May 28, 1976, was as follows: Of the persons who completed and returned amnesty forms 241 of them made initial payments amounting to £200,815. The £200,815 paid represents payments on account of tax evaded and the full amount involved will not be known until inspectors of taxes have completed their investigations.
