Vol. 291 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Job Creation.

5.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state in detail the total number of new jobs created in County Limerick in the last 12 months by the efforts of the Shannon Free Airport Development Committee; the location of these jobs; and the cost of providing them.

I have been informed by Shannon Free Airport Development Company that there was an increase of 72 jobs in County Limerick between 1st January, 1975 and 1st January, 1976, in projects introduced by the company: 29 jobs were created in Raheen Industrial Estate, 15 in Askeaton, 20 in Kilmallock, seven in Newcastlewest and one in Knocklong. It is estimated that the cost to the State of providing these jobs was approximately £2,400 per job.
