Vol. 291 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Carlow/Laois Estate.

3.

asked the Minister for Lands the reason for the delay by the Land Commission in taking possession of the Cole estate, Record No. S28038, in Counties Carlow and Laois.

Cavan): Proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of the property referred to reached their final stages towards the end of 1974. At the owner's request the taking of possession was deferred until the autumn of 1975 when lettings of portion of the lands were due to expire. Since then, however, the Land Commission have been unable to arrange for the taking over of the lands and if their efforts to do so continue to prove unsuccessful they will take whatever legal steps are necessary to obtain possession.
