asked the Minister for Labour the total number of people employed under the premium employment programme, 1975; the breakdown of the total figures between the different types of industry; and the total cost of the scheme to date.

As the reply is largely in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

Since the introduction of the premium employment programme a total of 5,185 employees have been returned to full-time employment with the aid of the programme. The breakdown by industry is as follows:
