Vol. 293 No. 2

Written Answers. - Diplomatic Relations with Rumania.

62.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs when the Government propose to exchange diplomatic representation with Rumania.

The question of establishing diplomatic relations with countries such as Rumania, with which we do not at present have formal relations, is kept under review in the light of our political, trade and other international interests. While Ireland, of course, recognises and maintains normal relations with Rumania, the establishment of formal diplomatic relations is a matter which must be considered in the context of available resources of finance and personnel.
