Vol. 293 No. 3

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 12, 14, 15 and 16. Private Members' Business, No. 43, by agreement, will be taken between 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.

I should like to refer to Motion No. 44 in my name and to ask whether any other business will be taken with it on Thursday, other than Questions.

The intention is to give the whole day to the motion.

A request was made for a two-day debate, on Wednesday and Thursday. When the request was not met we asked that the motion be debated all day on Wednesday. The debate has been fixed for Thursday, giving us much less time.

I did not understand there was a request for two days.

That was my understanding. We had asked for Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday is the longer day. In view of the fact that the debate is now restricted to the sitting hours on Thursday I suggest that the Opposition be given the right to open and to close the debate.
