Vol. 293 No. 3

Written Answers. - Workers' Wage Rates.

83.

asked the Taoiseach the hourly rates of wages payable to forestry workers, road workers and agricultural workers, having regard to the National Wage Agreement, 1976, in the form of a reply of 15th June, 1976.

The following statement gives for each county (a) the hourly equivalent of the basic weekly time rate of wages paid to forestry workers for a 40-hour week; (b) the hourly equivalent of the weekly rates of wages (excluding service pay) paid by county councils to road workers for a 40-hour week; and (c) the hourly equivalent of the minimum weekly rates payable to adult male agricultural workers under the Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) (No. 2) Order, 1975, for a 50-hour week which operates in the period March to October inclusive. The rates for forestry workers and road workers include the increase payable under the interim National Wage Agreement, 1976. The rates for adult male agricultural workers are minimum rates and came into effect on 15th December, 1975. Under a new Agricultural Wages Order, which will come into effect on 22nd November, 1976, the average minimum weekly rates will be increased by £3.50 or 7p per hour for a 50-hour week.
