Vol. 295 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Hospital Name.

12.

asked the Minister for Health if he will consider changing the name of St. John's Hospital, Sligo.

This is a matter for the North-Western Health Board, who own this geriatric hospital.

Would the Minister consider that such hospitals should have their names changed?

As far as I can gather, the name of the institute is St. John's Geriatric Hospital.

Does he consider that that name should be changed?

That is a matter for the health board. I am sure it will not make much difference what it is called so long as it is acceptable to the people it serves in the area.

Is the Minister happy with it?
