Vol. 295 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drug Poisoning.

17.

asked the Minister for Health the number of cases of poisoning due to the adverse effects of analgesics and antipyretics admitted to hospital for treatment for the last year for which figures are available.

Comprehensive figures of admissions to hospitals are not available but on the basis of a large and representative sample of admissions it is estimated that during the year 1975 approximately 540 persons suffering from poisoning from analgesics and antipyretics were admitted to hospitals.
